P200K in shabu seized, 5 nabbed

Five drug suspects, including a woman, are now locked up in jail, following separate arrests of April 3 and 4, in Negros Occidental, resulting in the confiscation of about P200,000 worth of suspected shabu.

The buy bust operation on April 4 at Sitio Cubay in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, led to the arrest of a 27-year-old jobless person and the seizure of about 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000.

Another anti-drug operation at Purok 8, Brgy. Aguisan in Himamaylan City, also resulted in the confiscation of about eight grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P54,400, and an improvised gun with two ammunition of caliber .357.

The arrested 38-year-old suspect faces charges for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

A 49-year-old sari-sari store owner also faces similar charges, following her arrest on Wednesday at Yolanda Village in Brgy. Santo Niño, E.B. Magalona, for selling suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Her apprehension yielded nine sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money.

The apprehension of two other drug suspects at Brgy. Guadalupe in San Carlos  City, Negros Occidental, also yielded an estimated 1.76 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to have market value of P11,968, according to the police.*
