About P3.4 million in suspected shabu was seized from a high-value target arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Banilad, Dumaguete City at around 8:15 p.m. on Jan. 25.
The suspect was identified as Ronald Japon, 37, lineman/driver, and a resident of Barangay Mangnao in Dumaguete, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas said.
The joint operation was participated in by operatives of PDEA regions 7, 6, and 8, together with the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office DEU, and the Dumaguete City Police Station DEU.
The operation yielded six packs of suspected shabu, weighing around 500 grams, buy-bust money, one motorcycle, a cell phone, ID, and money remittance receipts. Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect, the PDEA 7 added.*
