The University of St. La Salle gears up for the week-long Holy Relic Visit of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, with several meaningful activities lined up from February 10-17.

Activities related to the visit at USLS will focus on the theme: “Padre Pio: Touching Lasallian Hearts to Jesus, Our Model of Humility and Gratefulness amid Great Suffering.”

A caravan is expected to start at noon time on February 10 from the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish going to USLS, where the relic of Padre Pio will be brought to the St. La Salle Coliseum at 1:30 p.m., for the Veneration of the Relic.

An Institutional Solemn Mass will then take place at 2 p.m. to be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Raymon Asoy.

Other activities lined up during the week include the unveiling of the Padre Pio Exhibit at the new IS Building, prayer sessions, and praise and worship, among many others.

Padre Pio of Pietrelcina is one of the most beloved modern-day saints. During his life, he became known as a simple holy man, an excellent confessor, and mystic.

After his death, many miraculous cures were attributed to his intercession.

The Holy Relic Visit of Padre Pio is presented by the USLS – University Student Government, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development together with the Center for Lasallian Ministries, and the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish – Grotto of St. Padre Pio.*
