President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will lead the ceremonial energization of the Cebu-Negros-Panay Backbone Project Stage 3 (CNP3) on April 8 in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, which is expected to improve the power supply situation in Western Visayas.
The NGCP said it had already completed the 230-kilovolt CNP3 on March 27.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said that the recently completed CNP3 project of NGCP will “be a big help towards stability.”
“Stable power generates development, and with the completion of a major transmission line, we can expect lesser brownouts,” Lacson said.
As the province grows, he said more power generation may be needed, hence more transmission lines in the future are to be constructed.
Pressed on the need of Negros Occidental to put up its own power plant within the island to answer its increasing power needs, the governor said “we will continue to welcome new renewable power generators in the province.”
President Marcos is tentatively set to conduct an aerial inspection of the CNP3 Transmission Line – Bacolod Gahit Line, and tour the Bacolod Substation. CNP Phase 3 project involves 442 circuit kilometers of new transmission lines, 98 circuit km of submarine cables, and the development of six new 230 kV substations with an overall capacity of 3800 mVA, allowing the accommodation of generation addition and load growth.
The President will also lead the distribution of land titles and support services to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Bago City.*
