Thirteen barangays in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, have each received brand new vehicles from the administration of Mayor Rhumyla Nicor Mangilimutan.
Mangilimutan, who turned the vehicles to the respective barangay captains on October 10, said that the local government unit allocated P27,300,000 for the rescue vehicles and P4.9 million for the van.
The recipients are barangays of Cabacungan, Biak Na Bato, Talaptap, Sag ang, Cabagna an, Camandag, Lalagsan, Manghanoy, Mansalanao, Masulog, Nato, Puso and RoblesRobles, Sag-ang kag Talaptap.
On the same day, two brand new units of Toyota HiLux pick up vehicles were also turned over by Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez to the Victorias City Police Station led by PLt. Col. Rodrigo Gutierrez.
In a statement, Gutierrez said the patrol vehicles are expected to boost their law enforcement operations, police response, community service to the people of Victorias City.
Benitez also led the groundbreaking rites of a P3 million police substation in Brgy. 13, Victorias City.
PCol. Leo Pamittan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, also thanked the city government of Victorias headed by Mayor Benitez for their trust, confidence and endless support being extended to the city police force.
Pamittan said that the construction of the new police precinct is timely, as the PNP aims to bring the police closer to the people.*
