Several commercial establishments at a shopping mall in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, were ransacked by burglars on March 30.

Police investigations showed that a total of P450,600 in cash and valuables were taken from nine commercial establishments inside the Gaisano Mall, where the suspects gained entry through an air conditioning vent which was discovered to have been destroyed.

Stolen were P43,000 in cash, four laptops with a total market value of P200,000, 19 cellular phones valued at P201,000, perfumes, a backpack, and food items.

PMaj.  Ryan Villasario, San Carlos City deputy police chief, reported that with regard to the heist, they have already identified at least three “persons of interest” who may be familiar with the area.

Villasario also said that they are also entertaining the possibility of an inside job.*
