The Sipalay City government, through its City Health and City Nutrition offices, held its 48th Nutrition Month culmination with the theme “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-samang Gawan ng Solusyon” at the Rodrigo G. Chua Memorial Cultural Center in the city on July 25.
It started with a parade featuring all the 17 barangays, Sipalay Philippine National Police, and City Bureau of Fire Protection.
Different contests were also held during the event such as Agro Table Display, Well Baby, Best on Communal Garden, Poster and Slogan Making, Cooking, and Zumba Dance Competition.
Dr. Florencio Juplo II, City Health Officer, welcomed everyone who joined the program and he also highlighted that “we should still not forget our basic knowledge about COVID”.
Executive Assistant to the city mayor Engr. Praem Mediodia attended the event and congratulated everyone who took their part to make the event a successful one. “Our best protection against COVID is our health,” he said. He also encouraged everyone to do backyard cleaning every day as the dengue cases in the province are also rising gradually.
All Sipalay barangays also participated in different activities during the celebration, with the presence of their respective barangay councils, health workers, nutrition scholars, and midwives.
The City Nutrition Program coordinator Judyliza Cepe also attended the activity with the personnel from City Nutrition Office, and staff from City Information Office.
Also present were Councilor Rome Vargas, Liga ng mga Barangay president Elir Borres, representative from Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs, and Dr. Kezia Lois Arcolas from Schools Division Office of Sipalay City.*
