Throngs of “Tribo Pulahan” supporters braved the rain to welcome the visit of Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and the Grupo Progreso slate at Purok Brotherhood in Barangay Sum-ag late Saturday.
Umbrellas, handmade flags and GP posters swayed in the air while chants of “Tumandok” echoed in the background.
“This is why I respect our ‘Tribo.’ Rain or shine, your support to GP does not waver,” Leonardia said.
Purok Mabinuligon and Barangay Punta Taytay also had the same atmosphere where more than 500 loyalists greeted the incumbent chief executive.
“Madamo gid nga salamat kay gin hulat niyo kami. Didto sa Brotherhood na ulanan to sila, pero nag tinir gid sila (Thank you for waiting for us. There at Brotherhood they also got rained on, but they stayed).”
“Gina pakita niyo lang nga after all these years, solid gid gyapon ang suporta niyo sa akon kag sa Grupo Progreso (You showed that after all these years, your support to me and Grupo Progreso has been solid),” the mayor added.*
