Water distribution and rationing was held in Puroks Fortaleza and Guanzon, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City yesterday due to lack of access to water in recent weeks.
The two puroks were identified by the Barangay Mansilingan Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee, headed by Barangay Captain Franz Tionko, as the most affected areas in the barangay.
Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez responded to the situation by initiating water distribution and rationing in the drought-affected barangays experiencing the effects of the El Niño weather phenomenon.
DRRMO Bacolod expressed its appreciation to the Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade for its assistance in providing a water truck to alleviate the situation of the residents in the affected areas.*
