In the wake of the devastating Kanlaon Volcano phreatic eruption last June 3, a collective effort from various organizations and individuals has brought much-needed aid to the affected communities of La Castellana, Negros Occidental, particularly in Barangay Biak na Bato.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara, led by President Eric Malo-oy, VP/IP Igie Villarosa, and Rtn. Ging Lewis, along with the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUPV) and Mediabox Events and Advertising Corporation joined forces to provide essential relief supplies and assistance to the families and children impacted by the volcanic eruption.

Alongside them, the Rotary Club of Bacolod-West, spearheaded by IP/PP Christine Toledo, and the Rotaract Club of Marapara, under the leadership of Ma. Lourdes Dulce, actively participated in the relief efforts, demonstrating the power of unity and compassion.

Additionally, the Bacolod Negros Dry Goods Association contributed their resources to aid the affected communities.

Through the collaborative effort, essential supplies such as food, water, medicines, and other necessities were distributed to families and children displaced by the volcanic eruption. The relief operation not only provided immediate assistance but also brought hope and comfort to those who have lost their homes and livelihoods, the press release added.*
