Mayor Raymund Tongson met with officers of PrimeWater and Himamaylan Water District to discuss and explore solutions after the city government received several complaints on the water quality from residents, a press release from Himamaylan PIO said.
The mayor met with Engr. Daryl Jay Peguis, Branch Manager of PrimeWater Himamaylan, and Engr. Joel Gellecanao, General Manager of Himamaylan Water District to discuss how the Himamaylan City Government can help improve the quality of water supplied by Primewater to households, and businesses.
“Himamaylanons need improved access to clean and sufficient water,” said Tongson.
Tongson said they held the meeting with the representatives of PrimeWater to resolve the complaints of residents regarding the problem of water quality.
“This intervention is very helpful in order to provide quick solutions to the problems brought to our office by our fellow Himamaylanons,” added Tongson.
The recent drought has also brought to light pressing issues in terms of accessibility to clean water during calamities and emergency situations, the mayor said.
“Rest assured that the complaints, feedback, and reports of our citizens are heard. Part of our mandate is to ensure that commodities they receive are up to standard to ensure health and quality of living,” Tongson said.
The mayor was accompanied by city government officers, some punong barangays and acting City Fire Marshall Mario Niel Joevic Eufan.*
