Eleven local government units in Negros Occidental were honored and conferred awards by the Department of the Interior and Local Government during the Provincial Anti-Drug Summit at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City on Friday.
The National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards for 2019 were given to the LGUs of EB Magalona, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Isabela, Manapla, Pontevedra, Cadiz, San Carlos, and Silay.
The DILG-Negros Occidental said the nine LGUs garnered an “Ideal” functionality in their respective ADACs, and have maintained or decreased their drug affectation, based on the 2018 ADAC Audit team report.
The DILG Negros Occidental also awarded Silay, Victorias, and San Carlos with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) during the activity.
The DILG said the SGLG symbolizes the journey of the LGUs towards good local governance by upholding the standards of transparency, integrity, and service delivery.
Silay City Administrator Jose Eduard Davila said the City has been a consistent SGLG awardee since 2016. The city of San Carlos has won the SGLG award for five consecutive years already.*
