Infantry units of Army’s 3rd Infantry Division stationed in Negros, Panay and Bohol may soon be augmented by 227 neophyte soldiers.

The 227 Candidate Soldiers (CS) yesterday completed five months of Basic Military Training at the 3ID Division Training School in Camp Macario Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz.

Of the neophyte soldiers, 21 are women.

A total of 181 of them will undergo a 45-days Infantry Operations Course, while 46 others will endure the Engineer Combat Support Operation and Orientation Course.

In his message, Col Melencio Ragudo, 3ID chief of staff, congratulated the 227 strong and committed new breed of soldiers who gave their best in almost five months of rigorous training.

“To be a soldier is destiny. If it is for you, no matter how hard the training is, you will survive it. This is what I told you before your only enemy throughout the training is yourself. If you conquer yourself, you can survive the full training,” Ragudo said, in a statement issued by the 3ID Public Affairs Office.*
