Seventy-seven young individuals took the lead of availing of COVID-19 vaccines during the pediatric inoculation yesterday at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental, with regular vaccinations to start on November 3.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson thanked the parents and guardians of minors who participated in the launching of minor vaccinations at TLJPH in Silay, as well as Provincial Consultant Alfredo Benitez, Board Member Ryan Gamboa and Mayor Mark Golez for their support.
He also assured that the provincial government is on track and will double its effort for the target population to get vaccinated.
The schedule of pediatrics vaccination at the Cadiz District Hospital and Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, will be announced later.
Provincial Inter Agency Task Force action officer Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said that many minors postponed their vaccination due to requirements set by the Department of Health.
The provincial government was targeting 300 minors from the different local government units to be vaccinated yesterday at TLJPH.
Also attending the activity were Dr. Mary Ann Maestral, TLJPH chief, Provincial Health Officer Ernell Tumimbang, among others.*
