Sea travel between Iloilo-Negros and Negros to Cebu resumed yesterday, after the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was lifted by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the Philippine Coast Guard said.
Negros Occidental, however, may still expect moderate to heavy rains, the state weather bureau added.
Allowed to resume operations are vessels plying the routes of Iloilo-Bacolod, Bacolod-Dumangas, and Sagay, Escalante and San Carlos in Negros Occidental to Tabuelan and Toledo City in Cebu, respectively.
Evacuations due to flashfloods, meanwhile, were reported in Talisay City with 27 families affected, 19 families composed of 64 individuals in Binalbagan, 40 families in Hinobaan, and seven families in Moises Padilla.
A landslide was also reported in Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan.
A couple reported missing Tuesday night while crossing a bridge river in Brgy. Bulwangan, Hinobaan on board their vehicle, was found alive, floating along the seashore of the town. EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon suspended work in government offices of the municipal hall, and classes in all levels, yesterday because of Tropical Storm Dante.*
