Another 15 barangays of Negros Occidental received financial assistance from the provincial government, worth a total of P4.5 million, to fund various development projects.
The financial assistance was turned over yesterday by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to barangay captains and representatives of Fabrica in Sagay, Zone 3, Cadiz, Zone 16, Talisay City, Pacol and Don Jorge Araneta in Bago City, Buenavista Rizal and Buenavista Gibong of Pontevedra, III-Poblacion, La Granja, Nagasi, and Ara-al of La Carlota City, Masulog and Lalagsan of La Castellana, Palayog in Hinigaran, and Brgy. Binicuil in Kabankalan City.
The money will be used to repair street lighting facilities, construct perimeter fence, install solar streetlights, improvement of water system, construction of drainage canals, rehabilitation of multi-purpose building, procurement of multi-purpose vehicle, renovation of a daycare center, and covered court electrical installation, a press release from the Capitol said.
Board Members Samson Mirhan, Pal Guanzon, and Miguel Alonso assisted Lacson in the ceremonial distribution of checks at the Capitol grounds, the press release added.*
