Four suspected New People’s Army assassins shot and killed an off-duty member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit on September 24 in Sitio Kabayabasan, Brgy. Montilla, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified as CAFGU member Joselito Raboy, 40, assigned at the 62nd Infantry Battalion Delta Company stationed at Sitio Upper Mamballo in Brgy. Quintin, Remo, Moises Padilla.
Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said that Raboy was driving his motorcycle, coming from his detachment when he was waylaid by the four armed suspects, believed to be members of a NPA liquidation squad.
Pasaporte, who condemned the latest atrocity perpetrated by the NPA, disclosed that the victim was unarmed and off-duty when he was killed.
Recovered from the scene of incident were several empty .45 caliber shells.*
