AABN mounts simultaneous Panaad exhibits

PANAAD OPENING. The Art Association of Bacolod-Negros is holding simultaneous group art exhibitions, at The Bacolod City Pavilion and the Balay Kalamay at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, for the duration of the Panaad sa Negros Festival which runs from April 15 to 21.

Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and Councilor Em Ang led the opening of the AAB exhibit at the Bacolod City Pavilion Monday titled “MasskarArt Exhibit.” They were joined by City Administrator Lucille Gelvolea, City Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili, AABN treasurer Patty Ong and other department heads, as well as Board Member Manuel Fredrick Ko, who was also a guest of honor.

A carpet mural of masks in different designs painted by AABN artists, which Ong sponsored, welcomed visitors at the entrance of the Bacolod City Pavilion.

Meanwhile, the AABN art exhibition at the Balay Kalamay titled “Arte Negrense” showcases Negrense-themed artworks of its members.

Open-air sketching and face-painting activities are also being conducted by local artists at the site where different Negros-inspired art merchandise like mugs, tshirts, etc., are also available at the club’s Arttehan Art Fest.*
