An alleged member of the New People’s Army recently surrendered to the Philippine National Police in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Through the combined efforts of police intelligence operatives of the Talisay City and Murcia Police Stations, 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and the 1st Negros Occidental Police Provincial Mobile Force Company, the NPA rebel, whose identity was withheld for security reasons, also turned over to them a caliber .38 revolver and a rifle grenade
The former rebel is expected to receive cash equivalent to the firearm and explosive he surrendered, aside from financial and livelihood assistance he will get under the government Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.*
