Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez declared that the Bacolod City government is ready to release the Performance-based Bonus (PBB) to all qualified employees once the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) releases the appropriate guidelines.
Former councilor Caesar Distrito, the mayor’s spokesperson said the law requires that the guidelines should be released first by the DILG before the bonus can be released to the qualified employees of the local government units.
“Mayor Albee made sure that there is an allocation for the Performance Based Bonus in the current budget, and assures the employees that they will release it once the guidelines are available,” Distrito said.
“Mayor Albee doesn’t want the employees to receive unless they have the guidelines, or they might be later on ordered to return it to the city. He wants to avoid such situation.” Distrito added.*
