Cops nab 1,501 wanted persons in Region 6

Manhunt operations of Police Regional Office 6 against fugitives in Western Visayas have led to the arrest of 1,501 wanted persons in the first quarter of 2024, of which more than 50 percent were collared in Negros Occidental, including in highly urbanized Bacolod City.

Among the arrested fugitives, a total of 657 were accounted for by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, while 126 others were arrested by the Bacolod City Police Office.

Eighty one of the 657 fugitives nabbed by NOCPPO were categorized as most wanted persons, the PRO 6 report added.

PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO6 spokesperson, disclosed that NOCPPO garnered the most number of arrested persons.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the commitment and outstanding performance of the police operatives that persistently searched for and arrested the fugitives.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) trailed NOCPPO with 299 arrested wanted persons; Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – 126; Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) – 111; Antique Police Provincial Office – 106; Aklan Police Provincial Office – 82; Capiz Police Provincial Office – 77; Guimaras Police Provincial Office – 31; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) – 9; and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) contributed 3 arrests.*
