Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and 13 other members of his household tested negative for COVID-19, except for his 9-year-old granddaughter who is asymptomatic.

Familiaran said the whole compound of his residence has been placed under lockdown.

He reminded everyone to remain vigilant. They have been observing all necessary safety measures in his house and yet, one of his granddaughters got infected, he said.

“Everybody should take the necessary preventive measures and observe health protocols to avoid being infected by the virus,” Familiaran said.

Meanwhile, to protect both its employees and the taxpayers from the coronavirus disease, theBacolod City Assessor’s Office is implementing a new system in handling its daily transactions.

City Assessor Maphilindo Polvora said a drop box will be placed outside their office for clients to fill out certain requirements and leave their contact information, where the office personnel can reach them to schedule their appointment.

Polvora said they are doing this to avoid the spread of the virus that led to the closure of some government agencies.

He pointed out that there are some taxpayers who do not observe health protocols like social distancing.

While these new measures might cause some delays, Polvora assured the public that they will act on their needs.*
