Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr., Vice Mayor Raul Rivera, and Councilor Efren Gaspillo Sr., turned over 3,500 mushroom fruiting bags to beneficiary-farmers in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental recently.
The activity aims to start the production of mushroom in the community, a press release from the city said.
The mushrooms will be harvested in three months’ time and expected to open business opportunities for Kabankalanon farmers. The Kabankalan City Agriculture Office has been pushing for mushroom farming as another high value crop livelihood program for farmers, the press release added.*
