The Executive Committee of LGBTQ Bacolod*

The Executive Committee of LGBTQ Bacolod held its first Strategic Planning on May 28, at Bantug Lake Resort to strengthen its services and better provide for the needs of the community through the identification of priorities and effective execution of programs and activities.

The meeting was attended by 20 LGBTQ leaders who will spearhead the newly formed committees that will execute the mission of the group.

Co-chair of the Execom, Erika Morales, said the Strat planning was to revisit the Center-piece program of the organization, “this is the best time to identify the tasks, activities and figure out how to implement these programs effectively.”

The vision, mission, and the calendar of activities will be released soon to the public, according to Head of Communications and Media Affairs, Jade Jarabelo, “once everything is finalized and approved.”

Six committees were created to address the different needs and issues of the LGBTQ people and to fulfill the eight missions of the organization. These committees are Human Development committee, Equality and Human Rights, Marginalized sector, Health and Well-being, Economic and Livelihood, External Affairs and Networking.

Chairman Charlie Chavez’s inspirational message concluded the event. “We still have to continue to rally unity within our community because that will make us stronger. We continue to reach out to others and remain positive. That is love for the community,” he said.*
