WEDDING. Newlyweds Jarry Nombres and Yvette Tabayan (center) with Nenita Nombres and Marjorie Ronda, representing the parents of the groom, and the bride’s parents Teresita and Edgar Tabayan (l-r)*

A Negrense artist did a live painting of Jarry and Yvette Nombres at their wedding at The Ruins, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on April 16.

Kyle Jocson, a contemporary realist artist, sculptor, and a plein air painter created an 18×24 inch painting in oil on oil-primed linen of the couple in just about two hours during the event.

Jocson has been doing live portrait drawing and painting in events since 2014. He uses high quality oil paint on oil primed linen to capture the mood and the scene real time with swift and loose brushworks. The overall finish is a masterful rendition of the Ruins in the background of the couple captured in a kissing scene while fireworks light up the night sky.

Kyle, who owns Abstract Gallery along B.S. Aquino Drive, Bacolod City, accepts commissioned works for wedding events.*
