The house of COVID-19 patient No. 53 in Purok Grandville 3, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, who was placed under home quarantine, was sealed off after his wife was reportedly seen outside of their house.
Mansilingan Barangay Captain Rodolfo Pico yesterday said he called the attention of the wife of COVID-19 patient No. 53 after receiving several reports that she was seen going out of their house and also requested Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the city’s inter-agency task force (IATF), to remove her from the place.
Pico said COVID-19 patient No. 53, who is a 33-year-old locally stranded individual (LSI) from Manila, is now in a quarantine facility of the city while his wife is staying in her brother’s house which is less than 10 meters away from their residence.
Patient No. 53, who is asymptomatic, arrived from Manila on June 28 and was swabbed upon his arrival, he said.
Their house has been fenced off to prevent people from passing by. It is situated in a property outside of the subdivision owned by the Bureau of Internal Revenue which is occupied by about 50 houses of informal settlers, he added.
Pico said there are two other residences in Mansilingan that have also been sealed off due to the presence of COVID-19 patients.
These are Carmenville l where patient nos. 39 and 45, who are a couple, live and Grandville 1 where patient no. 48 live, he said
They are still waiting for the second swab results of patient No. 39, a 35-year-old female, and patient No. 45, a 61-year-old male, which were taken last July 4, as well as that of patient No. 48, a 26-year-old male, Pico added.*
