Within a period of seven hours, five victims died in three separate shooting incidents on March 28 in Negros Occidental, with the perpetrators having remained unidentified, as of press time.

Motorcycle riding suspects shot and killed Randy Macasa, 51, and Stephen Limen, 39, in Sitio Galo, Brgy. 5, Isabela, Negros Occidental, at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The two victims, who are residents of Brgy. Sibucao, San Enrique town, were on their way to Isabela from La Castellana on board a motorcycle, when they were fired upon by the armed suspects.

According to the Isabela police, both victims died on the spot.

Police probers recovered 12 empty shells, three deformed slugs and a live ammunition of caliber .45 pistol.

Seven hours after, Sherly Espinosa, 50, and her son, Jason, 20, were both declared dead on arrival at a government hospital, after they were waylaid and shot by unidentified suspects, while on board a motorcycle, on their way home, at Hacienda Ledesma in Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City.

The 8-year-old son of Espinosa who was also injured in the shooting incident is now being treated for a gunshot wound at the stomach, at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, according to the Talisay City police.

A witness identified by the police as John Consolado, told probers he heard four gunshots.

Recovered from the scene of incident were two empty shells and a slug of a caliber .45 pistol.

Barangay tanod Marvin Caramihan also succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries after he and his son, a minor, were waylaid and shot by unidentified suspects in Sitio Tibobong, Brgy. Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Caramihan, 50, and his 6-year-old son, were on their way home to Sitio Uway-Uway in the barangay, on board a motorcycle, when they were shot by the suspects.

The victim died on the spot, while his son was reportedly unhurt.*
