Dengue cases in Negros Occidental increased to 250 cases, as 36 more were logged from March 17 to 23, according to reports of the Department of Health, Western Visayas Center for Health and Development.
However, no dengue related death was reported during the same period, the DOH report further said.
DOH reported 1,830 dengue cases all over Region 6 from January to March 23 this year, registering an increase of five percent, compared to 1,742 cases in the same period last year, when it recorded three deaths.
The province of Iloilo logged the most number of dengue cases at 559, Aklan – 306, Capiz – 260, Negros Occidental – 250, Antique – 171, Iloilo City – 160, Guimaras – 79, and 45 in highly urbanized Bacolod City.
The DOH reports also noted an increased attack rate of dengue in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo province, Guimaras, and Iloilo City.
It also reported clustering of dengue cases in 26 barangays of Western Visayas.*
