Acting on intelligence reports, policemen successfully seized an estimated P2 million worth of suspected smuggled cigarettes on February 12 at Purok 3 in Brgy. Isio, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

PMaj. Alan Resuma, Cauayan police chief, in his report to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said that they are also arrested three suspects identified as Dandy Calago, of Dipolog City, Rolando Lanario and Joel Carvana, both residents of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

After responding to reports of suspected smuggled cigarettes in the place, the town police recovered 100 large boxes of assorted brands of cigarettes, amounting to P2 million.

Resuma said that the arrested suspects failed to present documents for the possession of those items.*
