Police confiscate P368K in ‘shabu’

About P368,600 worth of suspected shabu was seized in buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, Friday and Saturday.

Two persons in the police watchlist and a newly-identified drug personality were arrested with P164,000 in suspected shabu in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 in Bacolod, at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday.

Nabbed were Joshua Canlas, alias “Wawa”, 27, who is classified as a street level individual and included in the police watchlist, John Vincent Canlas, alias “Siopao”, 20, who is also in the police watchlist, Greg Sause, alias “Toto”, 18, a newly-identified drug personality.

Station 2 personnel confiscated 11 sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 in marked money, P550 in cash, and drug paraphernalia, police record show.

Meanwhile, about P204,600 worth of suspected shabu and marijuana were recovered from two persons at Villa Ramos Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod, at about 6:35 p.m. Friday.

Operatives of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Dindo Barcillo, 36, of Talisay City in Negros Occidental, and John Michael Leonardia, 26, of Barangay Villamonte, a police report said.

Recovered from Barcillo and Leonardia were P500 in marked money, eight sachets of suspected shabu, a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, a ziplock plastic sachet of suspected marijuana, a black case, an improvised tooter with traces of suspected shabu, and a disposable lighter, police records show.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against the suspects.*
