No more clash between Love Negros and UnegA members, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

The possibility of a clash among Love Negros and United Negros Alliance members with regard to the presidency of the Philippine Councilor’s League of the Philippines Negros Occidental chapter, is now remote.

In the spirit of coalition, we don’t want any “engkwentro (clash),” Lacson said, apparently referring to the clash between Love Negros and UnegA members for the position of the PCL Negros Occidental chapter presidency.

Lacson said they will announce the decision in due time, stressing also that “the decision will be supported the coalition.”

The PCL Negros Occidental chapter, headed by Silay City Councilor Ryan Gamboa, is slated to elect a new set of officers by September this year.

La Carlota City Councilor Julius Martin Asistio expressed his intention to run as president of PCL-Negros Occidental chapter, as confirmed by both Love Negros and UnegA officials. Asistio is the son of Fourth District Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer.

The PCL-Negros Occidental election was among topics to be discussed during the planned general assembly and induction of the new set of officers of the Association of Chief Executives (ACE) – Negros Occidental Chapter, now headed by Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez.

“We are planning to have an induction and Benitez pushes that a general assembly of all the mayors will also be held at the same time,” UNegA secretary general and Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. said.

Lacson said he will wait for the invitation from ACE-Negros.

Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez said the matter about the PCL-Negros Occidental elections has already been discussed by party leaders.

The League of Municipalities of the Philippines – Negros Occidental chapter led by Valladolid Mayor Enrique Miravalles, is also expected to hold elections for its new set of officers this year.*
