A Romblon priest was apprehended by the police on March 27 in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Sagay Regional Trial Court Judge Reginald Fuentebella, for the crime of rape.
Nabbed by the police was Fr. Conrado Mantac, a 62-year-old Roman Catholic priest, and a native of Brgy. Balatocan, Looc, Romblon.
Mantac, known as Father Con, was denied bail by Judge Fuentebella and is currently under the custody of the Sagay City Police Station.
Meanwhile, the police also nabbed Nash Saballero, 18, in Brgy. Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Jennifer Protasio Arches, for the crime of sexual abuse.
A bail of P200,000 has been recommended for his release from the jail.
Saballero is also detained at the Bago City police custodial facility.
Another wanted person facing four counts of statutory rape was also nabbed by the police at Purok Sunflower, Brgy. Binubuhan, also in Bago City.
The arrested suspect was identified by the police as Gerald Jimenez, 35.
He was denied bail by Judge Protasio Arches, police said.*
