Sipalay City Hall operations resumed yesterday following the negative COVID-19 result of a government employee, who came in contact with a positive case from Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.

In Memorandum No. 2020-084, Mayor Maria Gina Lizares ordered the recommencement of operations and services at the government building, a press release from the city said yesterday.

Suspect No. 8 was contact traced in the evening of August 17 and a subsequent contact tracing followed.

As part of the local IATF against COVID-19 health protocols, the City Hall employees were interviewed the following day to determine the close and general contacts of the 70-year-old suspected coronavirus disease case, the press release said.

The City Hall premises were also decontaminated after all employees have been vacated.

The contacts were then scheduled for swabbing and advised to observe the mandatory strict home quarantine.

Suspect No. 8 received his negative RT-PCR result on August 19.

In the memorandum, Lizares stressed the importance of honesty and fully disclosing one’s travel history, most especially in identified high risk areas, the press release also said.

She added that immediately reporting a person’s exposure to a positive case will definitely help the IATF in minimizing lockdowns and zoning containment, the press release added.*
