The taekwondo poomsae and speed kicking tournament through the City Sports Office was launched on June 18 at the San Carlos City Sports Park and had their awarding on June 19.

The event was also in line with the upcoming 62nd Charter Day Celebration of the city on July 2, and had a total of 34 participants for poomsae and 33 for speed kicking, ranging from 6 years old to 16 years old.

Each winner for speed kicking received medals while for poomsae, they received cash and medals: gold – P300, silver – P250, 1st bronze – P145; and 2nd bronze – P50.

Taekwondo trainer Darwin Jumuad Requina said that this is their first face-to-face tournament for the Charter Day celebration after the long and strict protocols and restrictions. He also thanked the local government of San Carlos City for the full support.

He added that he has seen the development of his players and hopes for them to improve even more.*
