With days to go before Labor Day, the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) will conduct a National Day of Action for Salary Increase in the National Capital Region, a press release from the organizers said.

ACT and its regional union and other affiliate organizations will stage ‘A Thousand Lights for Salary Increase’ tomorrow at the Fountain of Justice to shed light on teachers and education workers’ dire economic and labor conditions.

The group will also press the Marcos Jr. administration to prioritize urgent substantial salary increases for workers and abandon its pursuit of foreign-driven and self-serving Charter Change and support for the US-led economic and military agenda in the Asia-Pacific region that will drag us to inter-imperialist war.*
