USLS renews partnership with brgys, schools

The University of St. La Salle renewed its partnership for the fourth time with existing barangay and school partners for a three-year continued engagement in the areas of research, community development and student teaching and internship during the Institutional MOA signing held at the St. La Salle Coliseum on January 25.

According to the press release, USLS President and Chancellor Br. Joaquin Severino S. Martinez FSC, along with University administrators, led the signing of the MOA between USLS and its partners.

A total of seven existing partner public schools represented by school principals and the DepEd – Division of Bacolod, seven existing barangay partners represented by their barangay captains, and two cooperating schools for the College of Education student teaching and Internship Program were present during the event.

Leading the public school partners in the signing of the MOA were Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd – Bacolod Reynaldo G. Gico, CESO VI along with principals from Banago Elementary School I, Banago Elementary School II, Corazon Locsin Montelibano Elementary School, JR Torres Elementary School, Bacolod City National High School, Luis Hervias National High School, and Brgy. Singcang-Airport National High School

Meanwhile, the seven barangays in Bacolod City that signified their continued engagement with the USLS in the areas of research and community extension programs are: Brgy. Banago, Brgy. Mandalagan, Brgy.  Punta Taytay, Brgy. Singcang Airport, Brgy. Taculing, Brgy. Taculing, Brgy. Villamonte and Brgy. Granada.

In his special message to its institutional partners, USLS Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development Br. Normandy Dujunco FSC emphasized the significance of its partnership with the local government unit and partner schools in fulfilling its Lasallian mission.

“The University of St. La Salle makes good on our promise to be of service not only to our students but to the larger community where we belong,” Dujunco said.

The MOA signing also highlighted the signing of agreements with new barangay and school partners namely: Brgy. Pahanocoy, Jovito H. Sayson National High School, Handumanan Elementary School 1 and the Bacolod SPED Center.

The Institutional MOA signing was facilitated by the USLS Balayan Social Development Office.*
