All the 26 barangays of Victorias City in Negros Occidental have been declared drug-free.
This was revealed by the Victorias City Police Station during the recent City Peace and Order Council meeting, which was presided over by Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez.
Given that development, the Victorias City government is gearing up for the application process to achieve the status of a “Drug-Free City,” according to a statement issued by its Public Information Office.
During the CPOC meeting, Benitez encouraged each member to share their commitment and articulate their plans for fostering a more peaceful and safer community.
The collective effort and dedication of all CPOC members will undoubtedly contribute to the realization of a safer and more harmonious Victorias City for all, the issued statement said.
On the other hand, the Victorias City Police Station was recognized as the Top Performing Component Police Station with the most number of police operations against illegal gambling in Negros Occidental, last year.
The award was received by PMaj. Joy Ellaga, deputy police chief of Victorias City, on behalf of police chief Lt. Col. Roy Rodrigo Gutierrez, during the awarding rites on January 22 at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.*
