The Philippine Sugar Technologists Association (PHILSUTECH) is gearing up for its 70th Annual National Convention on August 12-16 at Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City, with the theme “Boosting Technology Innovations to Advance Competitiveness of the Philippine Sugarcane Industry.”

No less than 1,000 delegates, consisting of sugar millers, ethanol distillers, biopower generators, planters and traders, as well as suppliers of sugar industry technology, equipment and various farm inputs, are expected to participate in this annual sugarcane industry event. Delegates from other sugar-producing countries, such as India, Thailand, Brazil and the United States, are also expected to come.

The PHILSUTECH convention features keynote messages from government officials and industry experts who can appraise stakeholders on issues affecting the industry. The gathering also showcases product exhibits and technical presentations, as well as the announcement of winners of the Search for the Best Technical Paper, the Don Carlos L. Locsin Award, and the Outstanding Sugar Practitioner Award.

“This year marks a milestone in the history of Philsutech, as we will be holding the 70th Annual National Convention. We encourage our sponsors to reserve their slots early. We also call on our members and incoming members to register early for the convention, so that they can avail of early bird discount,” said Miss Haydee Rivera, Philsutech Corporate Secretary and Administrative Officer.

Prior to the formal opening of the convention, there will be a friendly golf tournament in Cebu, open to all members, delegates and sponsors.

The Philsutech Secretariat is now accepting pre-registration of delegates at P8,000.00 for old members and P10,000 for new members until July 31. Membership and convention fees for onsite registrants are P8,500 for old members and P10,500 for new members. Hotel reservations at the Waterfront Hotel are also available.
