Four sachets of suspected shabu, valued at P40,800, were seized from an alleged drug peddler  during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 8, Bacolod City on Saturday night.

Station 2 chief, P/Capt. Leo Gestopa, said Jerwin Lanerez, 30, Purok Narra-Baybay in the barangay, was arrested after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a police-poseur buyer in exchange for P300.

A coin purse and illegal drug paraphernalia were also recovered from Lanerez, who is considered as a street level individual.

Meanwhile, operatives of Police Station 6 arrested a high value individual in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 30, also on Saturday.

Gideon Castillo, 40, of Purok Pilipinhon in the barangay, was nabbed with seven sachets of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, a brown coin purse containing P195 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.

Lanerez and Castillo are now detained at the lockup cells of stations 2 and 6, respectively, and drug charges will be filed against them.*
