In the first game, Silver Dragon Transport defeated Huminova Tigers 72-58.
The Tigers had the momentum during the first quarter and established their will against the Dragons, grabbing a 20-6 lead at the end of the quarter. However, Silver Dragon Transport roared back in the second quarter, going on a 31-9 scoring run to give them an eight-point lead at the half.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, they were unable to recover in the second half. A 15-13 third quarter gave the Dragons a double digit lead, 52-42, and then they closed the game out by scoring 20 to the Tigers’ 16 in the final 12 minutes of action.
JD Javelosa led Silver Dragon Transport with 28 points, including four triples, while Alvan Rodriguez and Mccoy Reyes each had 10 points. Meanwhile, Arvin Espinitra recorded 16 points for the Huminova Tigers, followed by Randy Colonio with 14 and Third Deloso’s 11.
In the other game, JSY Transport narrowly defeated AACI Transport, 89-85. Harry Siendo set the tone early in the game, scoring 10 points as AACI grabbed a double digit lead to end the first quarter, 31-16.
JSY Transport were able to mount a comeback and were trailing by only six points by the time the second quarter ended. They then kept up the pressure in the third quarter and were able to snatch a six point lead going into the final frame.
It was a nip and tuck affair in the final quarter, but JSY Transport emerged victorious. Kim Demaranan scored 26 points to lead the JSY to victory, Joshua Vidal added 14 points, and Arnol Laureño recorded 12 points. Harvey Eslawa scored 19 points for AACI Transport, Harry Siendo added 18 points, and Oda Tampus totaled 11 points.*
