Three teenagers died, while two others were hurt on Sunday night, after being ran over by a multi-cab vehicle, that also collided with two other vehicles, along the national highway of Murcia in Negros Occidental.

The Murcia police said the multi-cab vehicle driven by Emilio Salvador rammed into two vehicles before hitting the five teenagers, who were sitting at the “batchoyan” (noodle house) of Esmeralda Lopez in Brgy. Caliban, Murcia.

PMaj. Robert Dejucos, Murcia police chief, said yesterday that one of the five victims identified as Mark Lorence Guansing, 17, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Two other victims identified by Dejucos as Shelmer Javier, 18, and Justin Maderada, 16, also died Monday early morning, while undergoing treatment.

Dejucos added that Carlo James Lopes, 23, and John Ryan Cruz, 17, who are all residents of Brgy. Caliban, Murcia, are still being treated for their injuries in a hospital.

He raised the possibility that Salvador may have dozed off while driving and lost control of the multi-cab.

Salvador, who is a resident of Brgy. Punta Salong, Murcia, was subjected yesterday to inquest proceedings for charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to properties.

Dejucos added that more charges against Salvador will follow through regular filing in court.

Salvador, who is now in jail, was reported to have been mobbed by some people as an offshoot of the incident.*
