A week before the end of voter’s registration on January 31, the Commission on Elections reported it has recorded a total of 35,801 voter-applicants as of last week.
Provincial Comelec supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria said that the lone district of Bacolod registered highest number of applicants at 10,318, as voter registration started “picking up.”
However, compared to previous registrations, it still slow, Ananoria admitted.
“We don’t have any projections but we remain open,” he added.
San Carlos City trails Bacolod City in terms of the number of applicants, at 2,484 while Toboso got the least number of applicants, with 230.
During satellite registrations, Ananoria noted that majority of applicants had ages ranging from 15 to 17.*
