The number of local government units in Negros Occidental with no new Covid cases rose to 12, as of Monday.

The number of active cases also dropped to 58, the Provincial Incident Management Team said yesterday.

The LGUs with zero active cases include Binalbagan, Candoni, Cauayan, Hinigaran, Isabela, La Castellana, Pontevedra, Valladolid, Manapla, Murcia, Salvador Benedicto, and Bago City.

Silay City has the most number of active cases with 10, compared to seven of San Carlos City that has been the topnotcher for the past several weeks.

From March 27 to Feb. 22 this year, Negros Occidental had 6,788 confirmed cases, with 6,515 recoveries, and 215 deaths.

Bacolod City had 61 active cases, as of Feb. 22.

Meanwhile, border control between San Carlos City and Vallehermoso in Negros Oriental was restored yesterday on advice of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.*
