The Philippine boxing and baseball communities expressed deep sadness on Monday night after one of the well-known personalities in said sports passed away.

Longtime boxing analyst Mike Ochosa, who was also known for his contributions in youth baseball, succumbed to a heart attack at age 55.

According to a close friend, Ochosa was at his home when he suffered a heart attack.

He was still rushed to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive.

Ochosa was more known for his work in boxing.

He was doing commentaries over the past 14 years, even working on some Manny Pacquiao bouts, and heading the Punchout Boxing Club.

He was actually seen during the press conference for Jerwin Ancajas’ return bout against Jonathan Rodriguez last month.

On the other hand, Ochosa was the program director of the Philippine Habagat, a youth baseball program that became known for its participation in the Protect Our Nation’s Youth baseball events in the last 10 years.*PNA
