The campaign against illegal cockfighting by the police, that also aims to address the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, led to the arrest of 10 more violators in Escalante City and La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Sunday.
Seven of the 10 violators, identified as Lloyd Aguilar, Federico Gellamac, Ronald Andaya, Fernando Destura, Rogelio Baclayon, Rednan Coniendo, and Robert Rayo were apprehended in Sitio Tulo-ato, Brgy. Pinapugasan, Escalante City.
The operation yielded two live and two dead fighting cocks, and P150 in bet money.
Three other violators, identified as Victoriano Esmedia, Jeff Shawn Tatoy, and Josefino Esmedia were apprehended by the police in Purok Orchid, Brgy. Robles, La Castellana.
The town police also seized one live fighting cock and two dead ones, four gaffs, assorted bandages, and P320 in cash bets.*
