The Bacolod City government continues to romp-up its Covid-19 response by setting up a second drive-thru vaccination site in a strategic location at the South Parking Area of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
Starting Wednesday, vaccinees belonging to the A1 to A5 priority groups may get their vaccine shots at the new site, the press release said
The Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) and the Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC) – both chaired by Mayor Bing Leonardia – have taken into consideration the “highly strategic” location of the South Parking Area and its impact on the city’s vaccination efforts.
“It’s highly visible and easily accessible for city residents, especially the working group and the busy commuters,” Acting City Health Officer Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr. said.
Miraflor also said that the first drive-thru vaccination at the 5th floor parking area of Ayala Malls Capitol Central will continue to operate. Both drive-thru locations regularly operate from 10 a.m. to 12 noon from Tuesday to Sunday.
Miraflor encouraged the public to get vaccinated by assuring them that the drive-thru process “won’t take so much of their time.”
The EOC and CoVaC have introduced innovative and aggressive strategies to the vaccination campaign of the city – all geared towards achieving herd immunity including the VAX-i, the drive-thru inoculation, the “BigJab Weekend” and the on-site vaccination at the Business Process Outsourcing firms, among others.
“Our goal is to make the vaccines available to as many Bacolodnons. This way, we keep our communities safe as well as our loved ones,” the mayor said.
The drive-thru vaccination is supervised by EOC Executive Director Em Ang, Deputy Directors Chris Sorongon and Anna Maria Laarni Pornan and Miraflor along with vaccination nurses, doctors, and staff.
Frontliners, senior citizens, persons with illnesses, essential workers and indigents who will go to the vaccination centers should bring any government-issued identification cards, other supporting documents, and a screenshot of their online registration.*
