The series of antidrug operations in Bacolod City from September 23 to 26 led to the confiscation of P5.7 million worth of suspected shabu and apprehension of four drug suspects, who are now locked up in jail and facing charges for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
An estimated 675 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P4,590,000 was recovered by operatives of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit during a buy bust operation on Sept. 24 at Purok Riverside in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City.
PLt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, disclosed that the antidrug operation led to the arrest of Erwin Belonio, alias Boy, and Anthony Solon, both categorized by the police as High Value Individuals in the illegal drug trade.
Also recovered by the police was P3,000 in marked money
The next day, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Negros Occidental foiled an attempt to smuggle P1 million worth of suspected shabu to Iloilo via BREDCO port in Brgy. 10, Bacolod City.
Intercepted and arrested by PDEA, in tandem with Police Station 2, Coast Guard personnel, PNP Maritime Command, and Special Operations Group of Police Regional Office 6 and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, was Rhemon Dumancas, 36, of Brgy. Patlag, Dumangas town of Iloilo.
The apprehension of Dumancas yielded about 150 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,020,000, police records showed.
On Sept. 23, Police Station 2 Drug Enforcement Team also seized about 26 grams of suspected shabu from arrested drug suspect identified by the police as Noel Dadivas, alias Nognog, at Purok Sigay in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.
The confiscated shabu has a market value of P176, 800, according to the police.*
