The Covid-19 risk classification of the highly-urbanized Bacolod City remains moderate, and low for Negros Occidental, the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development reported yesterday.

The Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) in Bacolod City posted a huge drop, from 22.51 percent per 100,000 population, from May 31 to June 13, to 13.36 percent in the past 14 days, the DOH said.

The DOH-WV report also indicated a further drop in Covid-19 growth rate cases to negative 41 for Bacolod City, and negative 12 for Negros Occidental.

However, it placed the healthcare utilization rate of Bacolod City, that is at 66.01 percent, under “moderate risk”. The HCUR of Negros Occidental stood at 47.97 percent.

The ADAR, HCUR, and 2WGR, or the percentage rate of growth, are taken into consideration by the DOH in recommending the community quarantine status of an area. Despite the low risk classification of Region 6, Dr. Bea Camille Natalaray,

DOH-WV Center for Health and Development medical officer 3, said the positivity rate continues to increase, from 8 percent to 8.4 percent, from June 17 to 27.*
