Former Bacolod Councilor Ricardo “Cano” Tan led the official announcement and unveiling of the construction of the tallest and biggest “Rooster” structure within the Campuestohan Highland Resort, during his birthday celebration at the resort last Monday.
Tan said the 116-feet or 35-meter tall structure, which he calls “Manok ni Cano,” is his contribution to the gamefowl industry as he wants to give recognition to one of the biggest industries in Negros Occidental. He also wants to see to it that the tallest and biggest Rooster building will be included in the Book of Wonders and in the Guinness Book of World Records.
“With our tallest and biggest Rooster structure being included in the Guinness Book of World Records, I believe Campuestohan Highland Resort (CHR) will be considered not only as the ‘Home of Many Firsts’ but also the source of Negrense pride in the field of tourism,” he said.
Tan recalled that he started the construction of the giant King Kong at CHR, which he considers one of the biggest in Asia. Campuestohan is also home to the second tallest free-standing dinosaurs in the world, not to mention the world famous Wind Mill Hotel.
He also promises to continue doing many more projects at CHR such as the Chasing Slide – the world’s longest straight slide inside the resort, and three types of “Tunnel of Lights.”
They will be making more outdoor fun facilities in the next two years that will complete the whole package of CHR making it not only a family destination but a global attraction as well, Tan said.
For his birthday wish, Tan said he has no other wish in life but “love” from his family, “harmony” with everyone in the community, and “respect” from both his family and the community.*
