BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The provincial government of Negros Occidental has terminated the employment of 12 Contract of Service (CoS) workers, serving as ambulance drivers under the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD).

Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Alberto Nellas Jr. yesterday said that the termination of contract of 12 CoS workers stemmed from their non-compliance in the submission of trip tickets, not only once, but numerous times.

Five other Capitol employees, three of whom are regular in status and two casuals, were also formally charged with grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty.

Nellas said the termination of contract between the provincial government and 12 CoS workers was approved by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.

He said they were able to establish grounds that warrant the termination of contract of the CoS workers.

On the other hand, the preliminary hearing of administrative charges filed against 5 PDMPD employees for grave misconduct, will commence January.

However, two of them have already resigned ahead of the formal hearing, a report of the PLO said.

The report added that the appointment of another casual employee facing grave misconduct charges will not be renewed.*
